Introduction
The Vancouver Olympic Club (VOC) was incorporated as a track and field club in 1950 under the leadership
of Professor Bob Osborne of UBC and Fred Rowell a young Lawyer and avid
supporter of track and field in the City. VOC has served Vancouver on a
continuing basis.
The club has provided training and competitive opportunities to thousands of young people in the city and province. VOC athletes have represented BC and Canada in National and World Track Meets and the Olympic Games. We continue to provide training and competitive programs for athletes at the junior development, junior, juvenile and senior levels
Each year VOC provides the opportunity for hundreds of non-VOC athletes to participate in track and field through organization of annual track meets.
Out motto is "The Champions of Tomorrow- Our Responsibility Today". Our training philosophy is "personal best" (PB). Not everyone who comes to our program will become an Olympic athlete, but everyone, through instruction and training, can improve their performance. When athletes work hard, participate to the best of their ability and achieve a personal best, then they are successful.
